Given the pain associated with tattooing - especially around the face, where there are loads of nerve endings - her claim to have been asleep is bunkum.

I suspect that she was stoned (and not because she said Jehovah) and may have been unconscious but that doesn't mean that she was asleep.

I suspect that it seemed a good idea at the time whether due to drugs, booze or a rebellious statement.
In the cold light of day she has realised it is there for good or she will have to go through all sorts of pain to get rid.
She is now looking for someone to blame and making up a ridiculous story.

I think it's a bit of both. She probably thought it was a good idea and only a tw@t would have agreed and done it to her. It amazes me how many girls have tattoos these days. It's going to look odd in years to come with all these grannies milling about with blue splodges all over them. While they may look good when freshly done on young skin, ones it ages they look horrible.

I've got tattoos in numerous places and must say the ones on my arms and chest i could have (and vaguely did) dozed through but had one recently down the back of my neck and that ferkin' hurt so assume facial ones must too. Agree she must have been bombed on something.
