I think the route might be down to it being a 2 engined plane. I was told that a 2 engined plane hugs land so that if an engine fils it can limp easily to an airport while a 747 with 4 can eaisly fly on with 3. The person who told me this might have been talking ballooks though

Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

So a question of time between emergency airports rather than time over water specifically?Originally posted by Churchill View PostTony, I think you're referring to ETOPS.Comment

Er, no, thousands of miles away from it. Look at the map on the page in the OP link: the Bermda Triangle is near Bermuda (!) which is rather near the USA. The search area is in the South Atlantic, bear Brasil.Originally posted by SizeZero View Post/conspiracy theory on
The area they are searching looks close to, if not within, the Bermuda Triangle?Comment

Pretty much, but it's related to Fuel Loads, diversion times, alternate airports, rating and certifications. It's different for 2 engined aircraft and 4.Originally posted by expat View PostSo a question of time between emergency airports rather than time over water specifically?Comment

Using Cybertory's logic, which Country's reputation was damaged by that DC10 that crashed near Paris?Comment
