      gMail for me. It's owned by Google but it's my email not a search engine.

      Besides why have a search engine as a homepage when all browsers can have a search box on the toolbar?

        1. they use the content of your emails to deliver targeted advertising. This includes gathering data from emails you receive, when the sender has not opted in to gmail's T&Cs.

        2. I use Safari, which has a Google-only search box on the toolbar.
        I have considered dumping Safari just for that, but I do like it. I could go back to Opera, which I do like (and has other speed options), but even the Mac version does not work quite the way that other Mac apps do, and I keep hitting keys that do what I want on other apps but not on Opera. OK I know, it's a user training issue.

            <sigh> Google. It's the best.

            I use Yahoo by default, and Google when I think I need to.

            PS Opera: CUK does not render correctly on it.

                I like iGoogle, however the search bar doesn't give predictive search.

                Anyone know a way of turning this on?

                    Depending on what theme you're using, to the right of the serach bos there's a "Search Preferences" link - at the bottom of that you get;

                    Code:

                    Query Suggestions

                    Provide query suggestions in the search box.
                    Do not provide query suggestions in the search box.
                    Is that what you mean?

                    Otherwise, I think predictive searches are just a browser remembering what you've typed before.

                      I have that switched on.

                      If I go to google.com and start to enter a search term the it will provide a drop down list of suggestions (not my previous searches), however from iGoogle it doesn't do it.
