Who remembers Mosaic? When exciting graphics meant ASCII pics :-) ? When all you could access was university thesisi? What was the first thing you got excited about on the internet (if it is porn you are too young to answer)?

WHS (although I'd refer to the web as an Internet application, given that it exists at the application layer of the OSI model)

I never used to bother with the web when I first had Internet access whilst working on a gig at a university research institute in the early 90s. Usenet and FTP FTW!
