National speed limit to be reduced to 50mph

...are you going to then reduce speed limits just for the sake of it where you don’t need to? That’s where you lose the respect or the support of the motorist.
Yeah, by banning guns you lose the respect and support of the hunting enthusiast, and by banning smoking in public places you lose the respect and support of the nicotine addict. Heartbreaking.
So, in all of human history we've had a couple of decades where even the cheapest cars are powerful enough to cruise along at 70, 80, 90mph no problem, without the drivers even thinking about it. But that's too fast for the roads and causes crashes and deaths.
Maybe motorists will enjoy having the respect and support of sane people.Comment
