    The cane makes sod all difference. I went to a school where they used the cane, and I went to one where they didn't. The only thing that counts is the teachers "psychological" ability to control an unruly crowd, doesn't require any physical punishment, but sort of a "CIA interrogater" personality.

      I was caned half a dozen times and, by fck, it hurt a lot. Cant say for sure if it did any good as far as I am concerened, but it did give some of the naff teachers 'presence' which they otherwise lacked.
      I got framed once by some other kids and got six on my finger tips. oww
