    Council Tax in Wandsworth
The Council Tax for 2008/2009 is £681 for an average Band D property. This remains the lowest in the country.
    Check Lambeth.

Not that anybody who could afford to move would live in Lambeth but that's not the point.

I thought Lambeth was Labour? doesn't add up with the subsidy of Labour wards argument.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Exactly, Scotland still needs an army.

Have separate sittings for UK & England only issues in the House of Commons.
I agree with some of that.

I would just ask, why do you think that England should charge Scotland for UK-wide stuff? Surely Scotland and England should own the UK as a condominium, and the condominium should charge Scotland and England for common services? I fear that are are still thinking automatically that it is England that pays....

Like I said to Moscow Mule, where do you get this idea that it is the English army, that Scotland benefits from?

              It is.

The point is, Wandsworth is the paragon of Conservative virtue and runs itself in an efficient manner. Lambeth is a scumbag council run in a true socialist manner (not necessarily my views, but the accepted "wisdom")

Not all of London has a council tax as cheap as Wandsworth, nor as expensive as Lambeth (& Camden), however London (on average) is about £100 cheaper (in band D) than Shire areas and about £35 cheaper than other Metropolitan areas.

However, that's still not the whole story. London actually has a greater housing density than most of the UK, so to get the full picture you need to look at total revenue by borough. Something I can't be arsed to do at the moment.

Might have been Ironic there. Although your punctuation is so poor I do not know what you are trying to say.

No me either, I know my council tax is higher than what I used to pay in the south east though. I'm not sure who I am subsidising this time around

The other factor in this is how many properties in London are in Band D compared to the rest of the country? Ok so wages may be higher in London but so is food, groceries, rail travel, getting a plumber, electrician, etc.
