As opposed to the opinion of people who have no training or experience in what they're managing.

What price feeling good for a few minutes?

Integrity? Heh! The truth? Humph! A contractor craves not these things.

          You are reckless!

You got too caught up in your work to the point of believing that it matters, and that doing things right was the point. It's not. The point is to invoice.

In my opinion you should get in there tomorrow and apologise. Tell them 'wet rag' was a slip of the tongue, and you meant to say 'ass wipe'

              That'll be a first.

              good luck, btw.

After the meeting, managers sat around chatting among themselves.

I have a feeling this gig might not last much longer.

Still, I got it off my chest.
Feeling a bit testy were we Mitch?

Sometimes you have to be good to yourself. You're only flesh and blood, not a god.

If you care, being professional day in, day out, taking the crap and doing the job right in a crap environment can only be done for so long.

You then either get physically ill, mentally ill, take it out on the family, start drinking even more to excess or in some other way show the stress.

You have another choice: walk or tell them the truth.

You did them and yourself a favour. Other people may have done it differently but you are not other people.
Drivelling in TPD is not a mental health issue. We're just community blogging, that's all.

I always find to take the path of least resistance, even though it winds me up when I'm in those God awful situations, I just think to myself in 6 months - 1 years time these people will be a faded memory nothing more.

So true. There comes a point where it is NOT worth it.
