Integrity? Heh! The truth? Humph! A contractor craves not these things.
You are reckless!
You got too caught up in your work to the point of believing that it matters, and that doing things right was the point. It's not. The point is to invoice.
NEWS. Have just been phoned by an agent well known to me whom I sent my CV; I can go to interview this week for a gig paying 10% more than current ClientCo did before the rate cut. Client looking for Test Manager who ‘tells the truth with no BS’. Potential BOOM.
I nearly threw a few people out of the window in this morning’s team meeting. In fact, I nearly exploded. I ended up saying it was self evident that the ‘Management team’ of ClientCo’s IT department is ‘unfit for purpose’ and described the team leader of my department as ‘a wet rag who doesn’t dare to tell his superiors the truth’.
After the meeting, managers sat around chatting among themselves.
I have a feeling this gig might not last much longer.
I always find to take the path of least resistance, even though it winds me up when I'm in those God awful situations, I just think to myself in 6 months - 1 years time these people will be a faded memory nothing more.
