        I hate text speak. A friend of mine is an english teacher in the Manchester area. She showed me some homework she was marking (I think the pupil was around 14). Most of the essay was text speak. Absolutely awful!

        Back when I was a kid, a snooker ball and a good throwing arm always sorted kids like this out!

          You can really do this? I could never change my entire writing style just based upon the target environment. In fact, it wouldn't even occur to me.

            it's not so much a conscious decision, it just happens!

            i'm sure many people under a certain age do the same

            by the way, is chugnut your first or second name

                Change the rules: classify text speak as an acceptable creative form of the language. Srtd LOL.
