I never heard a Christian tell someone they're a moron for their beliefs. Well, ok if you look at deep-south Yanks, but their weirdness transcends their (alleged) faith.

I would suggest that 'proper' christians are a smaller minority
Probably true, but that wasn't my point. Are the atheists trying to convince the majority of people who believe in some 'higher power', or engaging in a slanging match with one particular faith?

Someone who strongly believes there is no God after taking time to think about it, rather than someone who never really considered the matter and would say "I dunno" if you ask what they think about God.

The level of noise that comes from Atheists is directly proportional to the evangelism coming from religion.

The Atheist bus campaign was a response to an Christian advert on the London buses.

Thank you. I was concerned for a moment that I might just be a make-believe atheist.

You're probably right though that many people just haven't given it any real thought, and certainly not the kind of thought involving philosophy or science.

I really don't think it's the Christians we should be worrying about... the mosers have form with London busses.

Best avoid any with that message strewn down the side.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I would imagine most of us wouldn't be able to follow that thought process through to a conclusion...

You don't have to. You have all your life to think about it and nobody's forcing you to come to a conclusion. Well, nobody except a few fundamentalists.
