I would imagine most of us wouldn't be able to follow that thought process through to a conclusion...
You don't have to. You have all your life to think about it and nobody's forcing you to come to a conclusion. Well, nobody except a few fundamentalists.
You're probably right though that many people just haven't given it any real thought, and certainly not the kind of thought involving philosophy or science.

Someone who strongly believes there is no God after taking time to think about it, rather than someone who never really considered the matter and would say "I dunno" if you ask what they think about God.
Thank you. I was concerned for a moment that I might just be a make-believe atheist.

Are the atheists trying to convince the majority of people who believe in some 'higher power', or engaging in a slanging match with one particular faith?
The level of noise that comes from Atheists is directly proportional to the evangelism coming from religion.
The Atheist bus campaign was a response to an Christian advert on the London buses.

I find christians far more aggressive in their beliefs than atheists.
I never heard a Christian tell someone they're a moron for their beliefs. Well, ok if you look at deep-south Yanks, but their weirdness transcends their (alleged) faith.
I would suggest that 'proper' christians are a smaller minority
Probably true, but that wasn't my point. Are the atheists trying to convince the majority of people who believe in some 'higher power', or engaging in a slanging match with one particular faith?
Don't forget guys, that God sent hurricane Katrina as divine retribution to the people of New Orleans, as a punishment for being a bit bendy.
If he (or she) gets a bit fed up up with these posters there is no telling what might happen to the London bus fleet. Probably send an inch of snow or something to force them off of the roads for a while.
Do not mess with the almighty ! worry now or spend an eternity being sorry
