    School teachers are ******* useless

They really are. But the BBC seems to be reporting on the "big mystery" of why the schools closed. Lets face it the teachers just wanted another day off....no mystery there then.

To put it into perspective Client Co had 6 out of 170+ deliveries yesterday that were late (i.e. +1 hour after normal time). That's in 44 tonne lorries ffs! If we can make it through the teachers certainly can.

    Rant over.

I assume you're talking about this

Parents should ******* get over themselves. It happens once every ten years or so. Deal with it.

As a kid, you'd be gutted if your school stayed open and you missed two of the best snow days you're likely to see in a very long time. Gutted. More pissed off than you would be if Father Christmas walked off with the tree, its fairy lights and all the presents underneath.

As a husband of a teacher, it's not the teachers who close the school. It's the head. Few heads actually teach, and not all were EVER teachers.

Interesting fact: in our county, if you can't reach your school due to snow, it's required to turn up at your nearest school, or any you can reach - which is almost like something out of wartime. I'm sure lots of teachers don't follow this rule (of course) but I know some do.

As a parent, it has been entirely right that our school was closed and remains closed tomorrow.

We've had a lot of snow and if my kids have to wait another 18 years to have this much fun I want them to enjoy it to the full now.

They've learned more over the past few days than they would have at school anyway.

I have to work. They should have to work.

Teachers are notoriously work shy. Six weeks off in the summer, hours of 8.30-3.00, apples everyday and presents from the kids every end of term.

GET OUT OF BED YOU WORK SHY LAYABOUTS!

My kids are upset school is closed. They miss their friends (though the play with others in the street) and they miss learning.

Children go to school to learn. No wonder this country is in such a mess if people think children should only ever be having fun. There is plenty of time for them to enjoy themselves before/after school and weekends.

No wonder China/India kick our arses all over the place. Soon it will be just chavs left here.

I hope my kids emigrate as soon as they get the chance.

I love the way that people on here, who for the most part* are selfish greedy bastards who think of nothing in life but getting money for themselves, are quick to jump in and criticise those who (for lots less money) are doing difficult and sometimes dangerous jobs that just might make things better: teachers, social workers, police....

                * yes I know there are exceptions.

99% of teachers do get a raw deal and deserve our support.
95% of police uphold the law and deserve our support.

100% of social workers are total scum of the earth. Ever had dealings with them? I have : and I was told that they were quite happy to break the law : thet cannot be sued so dont care. They are power hungry morons who care NOTHING for children : they only spread misery.

Suprised you did not include nurses, doctors, paramedics etcetc who are quite amazing(with the odd exceptional case).......

I didn't include medics (or firefighters) because my point was about those who do not get respect; they usually do.

I've never had professional dealings with social workers, but my younger sister is one. I wish she weren't, because it is both dangerous and despised; but she believed that she could make a difference to people who needed it. So sorry, my little sister is not scum of the earth.
