Weve got to get back to the Garden !

      We are Stardust
      Billion year old carbon
      We are golden
      Caught in the devils bargain
And weve got to get ourselves

Is that so, or would you have to go farther? Perhaps beyond the Kuiper belt or the Oort Cloud? Even at these distances, wouldn't the sun still be the largest visible star? Perhaps there's a point where the sun's light would no longer form the majority of light arriving at your intergalactic exploration pod, and that point would be where the sun's rays become simply anonymous starlight.

          There - there's a place
          where I can go
          when I feel low
          when I feel blue

          And it's my mind
          and there's no time

          When I'm alone

          I think of you
          the things you do
          Go round my head
          the things you've said

          In my mind
          there's no
          sorrow

Don't you know that it's so

          There'll be no sad tomorrow

Don't you know that it's so

... perhaps if you were to venture to say point L2 (L meaning Lagrange)which is about 1.5 million miles from Earth then the SunLight would not dominate the sky - I shall let you know after March as I know of a spacecraft which will be doing some far out stuff then.

Isn't the edge of our solar system defined as the point of termination shock? Approx 8 billion miles from earth. I would say that is the point where the Sun becomes a star.

Why do pigeons wait until the last second before flying away, i.e. before you run over them?

(Apparently the answer is that their reactions are faster than ours)

Supplementary question. Has anyone ever run over a pigeon?
