My German pension is still in tact, my British pension has been piddled away by coke snorting nob heads in the City.

Mrs Tester’s Dutch nurses pension is not only intact, but remains one of the best pension schemes in Europe. She'll probably stop on 90% salary at 58. I’d love to pay in to her scheme, but it’s only (officially) made available to healthcare workers and not to their partners. However, she’s just been informed of the possibility to make extra contributions. I guess I’ll have to trust her and just stick a large sum into her scheme under her name.

Isn’t it a bit far fetched to blame it on Mrs Thatcher? Yes she encouraged the markets and took away a lot of regulation, and I certainly don’t agree with everything she did, but I don’t remember her ever saying that bank supervision should be completely neglected as it has been for some years now.

Yes it is but if I was serious I would take the time and research my points throroughly and be able to engage in debate from a position of knowledge and not blind political bias. As a newbie to these sites I have to take my lead from the experienced and well educated (tory) posters who have been setting such a fine example.
