..... and when Northern Rock was in trouble the phrase ' bailed out by the taxpayer' was repeated ad nauseum to denigrate the company and to enable an excuse for nationalisation. How ironic that it is now used as a way of HMG trying to gain kudos !!!!!!

Not at all. It needs improving and Labour have failed to do that so it's time for a new HMG with better ideas and less left-wing dogma. A good education system is good for everybody and the economy.
