Change your mental attitude. If you refuse to exercise and do not want to give up your food and drink then nothing anyone can say will help you live a healthier and ultimately longer life.

But then, if you're happy in your own skin and appreciate that your lifestyle could result in an earlier death then fair play to you sir. No-one has the right to lecture you...
    Older and ...well, just older!!

Ah, but how to do that?

But it is clearly the answer. I am not likely to stick at or succeed in anything that I don't really want to do.

          thats not much at all.
Maybe you are approaching this from the wrong angle. Get a piccie of self, get it into photoshop and balloon it up till you look about 35 st (70kg), caption 2006.

Put it onto the mantlepiece next to a picture of self, caption 2008.

Everyone will look and be amazed and impressed

Not much? Last time my doctor asked me how much I drink, I confessed to a figure somewhat short of that, and he immediately offered me counselling and support to reduce it.

Er, I'm not. Haven't you got a test script to write or something?

If only. I’m only allowed to write plans these days since I was upgraded. If I write testscripts they’ll pay me less.

That would be my reaction looking at those numbers too.

I am not an expert but your doctor is clearly a rogue and a charlatan. He know you lied to him so he has multiplied your numbers by four. Or something. But we know the true amount , and its not that much.

If you were getting ALL your calories from ale, you might have a problem. Like eight pints a day.

Now I see where you get your name from But I'm sure you're right about the doc, he will habitually "correct" the given figure.

No, I'm getting plenty of good nutrition, and I'm not worried about my drinking. But I sure am taking in calories as if for 2, and my weight is heading up accordingly.

I have been 60 kg as a healthy adult (admittedly while travelling in 3rd World in my 30s, not deskbound in my 50s) and now I'm 90 kg. That has got to be way too much. Too much, for me, = stops me doing things I might otherwise, and/or cuts my enjoyable lifespan.
