      It's all relative. House ownership aspirations are similar in the South and North.
      Contrast with Germany and it becomes clear that Germany and the UK can never share the same interest rate. Their economies are so fundamentally different and therefore require different policies.

                      Better let's protect tenants (and give them as many rights) as well as they are in Europe and then a lot of people would not get into massive debts to "own" a house.

                      It should not cost much just to have a place to live in - if it does then some mechanisms (construction of new homes) do not work well and it is them that need to be fixed.
