Ahh, "pull my finger" and "highest up the wall". Two rites of passage that are passed on from father to son!

When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns--or dollars. Take your choice - Ayn Rand, Atlas. -

What are the origins of this practise I wonder? And is it something a foreigner would understand?Comment

I find that it makes the joke funnier. A small princess talking girl coming up to you - pulls your finger and orders you to fart - irresistible.

Love hot food, in particular chilli related grub so pretty much part of the staple diet and not found to be that hot to be honest.
If you want heat, have a check of some of the blair hot sauces or "he who dares burns" pepper sauce.I don't want to achieve immortality through my work... I want to achieve it through not dying...Comment

Following recent scant research into the phenomenon, its origin appears to be unknown. Nor is it known whether the ritual would be understood in or appreciated by other cultures. The earliest reference I can find is 1952 where Cary Grant attempts the 'pull my finger prank' on Marilyn Monroe in Howard Hawks' 1952 film Monkey Business.Originally posted by ThomasSoerensen View PostI am Danish - and I like the joke - the germans were not too happy though.

If it doesnt come from the bowels or the bladder, it's not funny
whereas our English humour is highly intellectual
