There are plenty of legal firms that do things I disagree with - my position is that on one hand I personally don't take part in it, and on another hand sometimes there is a case to argue that their activities should be made illegal (hedge funds for example), only after that can something legally be done about those people. Until such point they have every right to exist as you or me.

Same goes for political parties - I've seen way too often such witchhunts backfire big time.

Is there a court order banning whole party on the grounds of its illegality? No there isn't. Some members of that party committed criminal acts, so what, you think Labour members don't do that? Available information might be sufficient for you and me to decide to never join that party, and that's fair enough, however it is not enough to criminalise membership of that legal party and until that happens they have every right to be member of the party like any Labour or Conservative.

I mean FFS, it's not like we are in Germany 1950s where any sign of nazi party coming back should have been squashed - BNP is highly marginal and have no chance, attacking them in such illegal fashion only helps their image, just on this grounds the list should have never been published apart from maybe policemen, soldiers - these people, maybe 20-30 - that would be fine leak.

Back in the 90s, a far right Islamist group FIS (Islamiscists are just like Nazis IMO) won a free and fair election in Algeria. They were suppressed by the establishment (probably with covert Western support). That was the right thing to do.
Those of us who live in the real (grey) world understand such things more than silly, utopian geeks like atW.

BNP has no chance of winning in fair election in this country, their small membership only supports this view - if whoever was near their members list actually found that 5 mln people were in it, and then danger of them winning would be high, then yes maybe, but their list is small, they poll bugger all - talking of Algeria example or any other country is totally unapplicable to this case.
