When you own cars such as these and learn how to drive and exploit their performance effectively then they prove themselves far better than you sat there with your top-trumps will appreciate.
There's only one problem with the above, you're only allowed to go 70mph in the UK so what is the point of having a car that goes ~170? Now the acceleration is okay as you can get to the next set of red lights before anyone else or get to the UK cruising speed of 50 before anyone else but then you're stuffed. As my missus says, in a traffic jam, you're the same as anyone else...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

The national speed limit in the UK is as you rightly say 70mph on motorways and dual carriageways and sixty miles an hour on all other roads unless otherwise indicated.

However, there are times when road conditions permit that I try and exploit the potential of my vehicles.

That is a judgement that I make and if caught and prosecuted will pay up with not a whisper of complaint.

Well, it's going to get tougher.

            Clampdown on Excessive Speeders

Drivers caught breaking the speed limit by a significant margin twice could be automatically banned from the roads under new government proposals.

As the law currently stands, the majority of speeding offences are punished with a fixed penalty notice of a fine and three points.

But the government wants to introduce more severe punishments for so-called "excessive speeders" - for example, those who drive at more than 90mph on a motorway.

If adopted, the proposal - first mooted four years ago - would see these "anti-social drivers" automatically given six points.

Being caught twice at such speeds would mean 12 points and an automatic disqualification from driving.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I expect those given 6 points will receive more than double the fine of those given 3 points. Its a money making exercise.

I see no real issue with doing 100mph on a clear motorway in good conditions. I see a big issue doing 31mph near houses in bad conditions.

Hey, it's the Government's decision and the majority of people in the UK elected them, so they can hardly complain can they ?

Does that mean only those who voted Liebour will pay the new higher fines?

It seems only fair to me.

You might be on to something here - can I have refund on VAT, airport depature tax and insurance premium taxes I've had to pay since John Major introduced them as I didn't vote for him? I would get this as well as the speeding fine discount as I didn't vote for them either - cool.
