      Two things:

      I presume you read this:

      http://www.contractoruk.com/about/terms_conditions.html

And surely you should contact this person as he wrote the article:

Profile written by Matt Walters of Capital Consulting (October 2008).
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Unless CUK is in some way an official site run by some official body, it has no duty of care, it's just a website with some stuff on it.

Example of dumbed down college courses it would appear.

Original poster is an accountancy graduate.

Original poster got stung for tax they were not expecting.

So much for the years they put in at whatever hole that calls itself a university they attended.

CUK is a great site but where cash is involved I would always get paid
advice from a professional who knows what he/she's doing.

also get the advice in writing as well, if it turns out to be wrong then
there could be the option of suing them and not just complaining.

Sadly I never had the pleasure of arguing with him. He's just an option in a poll to me

                    None of my business...

but YHB, how much did you get stung for from Hector and how were you made to pay the tax back ? Lump sum or over a period of time ?

I think I have to agree with what Chef said. If you had so much at stake, why didn't you pay for proper professional advice?
