Use the budget airlines a lot.... They're not perfect, but remember before they came along, how expensive air travel was?
Think I paid £210 return from Manchester to Jersey (40minute flight) in the mid '80s....
Now I can pretty much get from Newcastle to any European City for £80 return (if I book in advance
).
A big shout for Eastern Airways though...
£200 return from Newcastle to Southampton (OK I could go BMI for £50) but you get a glass of champagne served with your nibbles each way... and they have a checkin service that means you can arrive at the airport 20 minutes before your flight, rather than 2 hours
