Could you have got there for £46 by any other means ?
If not, I don't really see the problem.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
How much does the fuel cost? And salaries for staff? And airport fees? How can they do it that cheap?
The same way any other airline does, by using Business Class fares to subsidize Economy Pax:
"Economy class will be very cheap, around 10 euros, but our business class will be very expensive,"
However, I don't see this working for Ryanair. I can't see too many businesses buying into the Ryanair model for transatlantic flights, they're more likey to fly Economy with a quality airline!

I wouldn't fly ryanair full stop. I would prefer to fly in the cargo hold on British Airways than to set foot on Ryanair.

Then why bother with economy atall? Why not just fill the entire plane with business class?

Some airlines tried that - they mostly all went bust.
Simply not enough people / companies prepared to pay such high fares.
Regarding the point about companies not paying for their employees to go on Ryanair when they can go on a quality airline - when times are tough and it may be a choice of not flying at all you would be surprised how many companies will FORCE their employees to fly Ryanair.
This default font is sooooooooooooo boring and so are short usernames

I agree - with bells on. I recently went to a popular destination with BA. Check in was a breeze no queues. I've got a frequent flyer gold card too so I gave it large in the biz lounge even though I flew economy. The aircraft was half full and got a sandwich and cup of coffee thrown in for free.
The 'bucket' airlines Sleazy Jet etc were all doing great business it seemed. Well, if you call great business snaking great queues of ..... well football shirted, cropped hair types and associated Sharons, all featuring aggressive attitudes and beer bellies (and that's just the women)
Never I tell you - never. Too old and too much of a snob.

EasyJet are an ok carrier... not great, but not as bad as Ryan"I shall vomit over the seat and carpet"air. I live in West London and have access to a bus that takes me to Heathrow Central (Would need to take 2 or 3 buses to get to Terminal 5). However, getting to Luton and Gatwick is doable but requires more hops. So I can't complain about accessibility to the major London(ish) airports.

i've been flying ryanair for ages and really don't have any issues with them
yeah, their flights may get delayed more than most (though they say they have most on-time flights in Europe, the world, or something...the galaxy?!) but they are not as bad as some people make out
