I don't consider Stewart Lee a comedian, more of a social-commentarist IMO. But like that fella who does the government baiting on Channel 4 - Mark something"See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested." -
Oh - they had to be political comedians?
I'm not sure Brand can be pigeonholed as political in the same way that Ben Elton or such would.
And the Stewart Lee that you talk of that "doesn't do naff observational comedy, or require pantomime costumes" musn't be the same Stewart Lee who planned to open his TV show performing a stand up routine dressed as an insect?

...no must be a different bloke. It's sweet how highly you think of him though.Comment

What is stand up if not social commentary in some form. You Mean Mark Thomas? no he's not really like him at all.The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Good to see that Gordon Brown can take time out from saving the world from financial melt down to speak out on this highly important, sensitive and internationally damaging issue

I simply can't see what all the fuss is about. The fact it's made top story on ITV's 6 O'clock news two days running is
I guess it's been a slow news week so far, now the economy is 'boring' news.
On the other hand I'm no fan of Brand, and Ross is just par for the course, cringeworthy at best.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

I found both of them "funny" for about 5 minutes. Each. Then I thought they were just sad gits with no sex life worth talking about... because they were talking about sex all the time like a couple of teenagers who hadn't kissed a girl yet but drooling at sticky Sunday Sport on the schoolbusComment
