Controversy is one thing and can be entertaining if done cleverly, humiliation and causing distress is quite the opposite. That's one of the reasons that I loathe so called "reality" and "talent" shows since they exist largely to entertain by humiliation of the participants.

But at least the 'victims' on those sorts of shows are largely willing participants, and the attacks aren't on members of their families.

I've never found Russell Brand even remotely amusing and Ross has never been anything other than a support act for real talent.

You'll be shocked to know that I find him very funny too.

Well, I did at first - he's getting a bit boring now.

I enjoyed his book very much, and saw him at the Sunderland Empire last year...I've DEFINATELY seen worse! I laughed quite a bit, although not as much as I thought I would.
