I would have a swimming pool.

And I'd quite like a little lake in my back garden with ducks in it....baby geese walking in a line past me at breakfast would be an "I've made it" moment for me

I doubt I'd change anything else though <soppy moment alert> - I'd keep the same bloke, the same life style, the same city, the same boozers...life is already pretty much perfect really.

How do you legs work then, do they bend the wrong way?
They don't always go where I want them too. (MS)
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I’ve got one of those. Unfortunately ducklings don’t do well with cats around the place.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

What single object do you dream of owning? Or perhaps you already managed to achieve this dream... was it as good as expected?

Well it would have to be either

            Aston Martin DBS

            Or

Two story house. Open Plan central living room and kitchen off one side.

Upstairs would be the bedrooms and on the South, allowing for a full height glass doors leading to a balcony over a two storey Conservatory.

            Plants to be everygreens.

House to be fully networked allowing for each room to play music in or pipe video to a LCD tv. Communications via Wi-Fi from a central storage.

Overall design to reflect Art Noveau.

(Given that the wife wants to retire back to Thailand the house might be cheaper

                  A snow chalet.

Nearly bought an apartment in a new development last year, been toying with the idea for a while. Glad I didn't, for now ...

How large is a pool table? Why don't you just order one if you want it so badly. (or did I miss some irony there?)

Now a proper pool might be a different matter. ..
