All Your Banks Belong To Us
If you've got a problem and no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire...Gordon Brown ...( cue music ) -
Love it! Nationalisation of capitalism
'Orwell's 1984 was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual'. -
Nick Pickles, director of Big Brother Watch. -
Does that mean that we can go to the bank and get some of it back?It will include a proposal to use taxpayers' money to invest in banks - in effect part nationalising them.

Oooh, its so exciting,
Can't wait to get back to the United Socialist Republic Kingdom next year! Perhaps I can get a job loading lineflow in the Peoples Bank, work my way up into the Politbureau.
Failing that I guess I can always help with rebuilding the Berlin Wall...

Cue SASguru and one of his posts about The City being the economic powerhouse of the country
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

What is worrying reading about this rescue is that it is now clear the UK is developing a subprime problem comparable with the US.i.e. this isn't about US speculation but UK housing speculation. It is about a year behind the US in its bust cycle.
Scary.....
I'm alright JackComment

Is this a surprise? What did we think that self-certification mortgages were for? Never mind the income, who needs ability to pay, when you have the property as security. As long as its value stays high. And people don't start taking 125% mortgages. Or boosting property prices by buying up prospective BTL flats on interest-only loans.Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostWhat is worrying reading about this rescue is that it is now clear the UK is developing a subprime problem comparable with the US.i.e. this isn't about US speculation but UK housing speculation.
