Is this a surprise? What did we think that self-certification mortgages were for? Never mind the income, who needs ability to pay, when you have the property as security. As long as its value stays high. And people don't start taking 125% mortgages. Does that mean that we can go to the bank and get some of it back?It will include a proposal to use taxpayers' money to invest in banks - in effect part nationalising them.
