How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

You forget that HBOS has already had access for months to BofE funding, which Northern Rock was denied. That is one reason why HBOS' demise has been slowed down. You are slightly naive.
As have all the other banks. The take up in the last round was pitiful.

I doubt HBOS will go bust, at these prices definitely undervalued.

The price will rise a bit before the end of the day when a sensible person should sell, and a sell-off will start again tomorrow and the price will be sub 1 pound next week.
