Thanks for that. Much as I thought then. Actually, my (student) daughter finds it very cool to be NOT using a Mac like the others!Originally posted by bogeyman View PostIt's the community aspect more than anything else.
If you're working/studying with a group of people who mainly use a particular type of computer, you'll be left out if you use something else.
There are lots of handy little utilities and widgets that you can only get on one or other platform. People enthuse about them and swap them around. If your computer can't run the latest 'must have' gadget then that's decidedly not cool.
Superficial I know, but these things are important when you're a student.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

"were", "sandals".
Loath as I am to disrupt the "C64-versus-Spectrum" style of bickering into which this thread has descended, might I suggest that people either get back on topic or STFU?
Edit: that comment wasn't directed at you in particular, blacjac.Comment

I hated macs until given one to use as a permie; my next purchase will be one.
As has been mentioned I'd wait until she's registered as apple's student discount is pretty good; also in the next month it's believed apple *may* be updating both the macbook and macbook pro.B00med!Comment
