It's the community aspect more than anything else.

If you're working/studying with a group of people who mainly use a particular type of computer, you'll be left out if you use something else.

There are lots of handy little utilities and widgets that you can only get on one or other platform. People enthuse about them and swap them around. If your computer can't run the latest 'must have' gadget then that's decidedly not cool.

Superficial I know, but these things are important when you're a student.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Only if you are a weak willed cretin. Your post is one of the worst reasons I have ever seen to buy a mac at 2-3 times the price of a laptop which would do the neccesary job. It does sum up the typical mac fanboy mentality though.

They weren't important to me when I was a student. I did meet students who found things like this important, but they were usually the obnoxious ****** who got daddy to buy them everything and now work in McDonalds.

                  Hey Tay!

You must be the loneliest, most miserable bastard on this forum.

What is your problem exactly? Envy? Inadequacy? Plain stupidity?

You claim to be a Kiwi right? Where in Kiwiland do you hail from?

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.
