At 70mph, acceptable. As I have mentioned before, the ruts worn into the left-most lane of the motorway are dangerous!Originally posted by Xenophon View PostWhat is hogging the middle lane when the left-hand is clear?
Travelling in the middle lane will give you equal chances of moving to any lane if the need arises.Comment

It doesn't work like that and you know it. Stop being an IT geek and trying to put numbers on it!Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostHow big is that gap?

If it is clear - i.e. nowt there - then you should be in lane 1 NOT lane 2.Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion.Comment

The problem you've got here is that you can't actually control other drivers, d'you see? You can only control yourself. Even if you sit right on their bumper, flash your lights, beep your horn and go red in the face with your eyes popping out, you can't make the person in front move out of your way.Originally posted by Xenophon View PostNo, just get in the left-hand lane.
But you can just check in your mirror, indicate, pull out and drive round them using the outside lane. It's a lot easier on your blood pressure too.Comment

3-lane motorway. All lanes clear as far as the eye can see (ask DP what that is in metres). You should not be in the middle lane.Originally posted by Churchill View PostTravelling in the middle lane will give you equal chances of moving to any lane if the need arises.Rule #76: No excuses. You've more chance of approaching a slower vehicle in the left-most lane, why put yourself in a position where you constantly have to make pointless manouvres?
Xeno, you're wrong on this one buddy.Comment
