Day started out cool and grey.

Good, after last night's humidity.

Sun now out.

29° but still pleasant.

And it's peaceful too. No builders. No delivery men clanking their trolleys. Nobody shouting down mobile phones.-

A good day so far.

In a peace before the storm kind of way.

I've been away from this thread recently since I've been working in my pants.

This week i'm in sunny Paris.

18 deg and some white clouds in the sky. Way better than yesterday which felt like 30+ deg (40+ on the train)

I'm eagerly awaiting a change in the hill's steepness.

In other news, the force 10 gale is now blowing the rain* horizontally.

And some of it uphill.

Good gracious me, no. Thankfully they'll not be back until September & the resits.

There's basically no one here but us chickens.

i.e. the hewers of wood & drawers of water.

Plus the odd* academic pottering about on a "duty" day.


*And some of them are truly odd.

Any idea how many re-sits this year?

Someone's borked the weather again.

Another wonderful trip to the dump yesterday with ancient tv and assorted bits of dismantled printer.

And a ginormous bonfire with monitor & tv cardboard boxes I've had in store since 2000.

Happily, said boxes were devoid of rodents, much to my relief.

And the rodents as well I would have thought
