It's generally not more tax-efficient than personal donation. But I've done sponsorship in return for publicity.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

yeah, i'm looking at this - it's only something small of course but pretty cool.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostIt's generally not more tax-efficient than personal donation. But I've done sponsorship in return for publicity.
the tax efficiency thing - paying it from the company disqualifies the donation from tax relief at their end i believe, so it's kind of tight-fisted on my part unless i bump up the amount to account for this.Originally posted by BolshieBastardYou're fulfilling a business role not partaking in a rock and roll concert.Comment

Done that too. Went through the books as marketing as it was the closest category I could think of. There's a sports team running around with my company name emblazoned over their kit.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostBut I've done sponsorship in return for publicity.

MyCo has never made a financial charitable donation.
It has provided many, many hours of my time in return for free advertising.
For example, there are charity newsletters out there with
"Typeset & printed by CraniumCo"
on the bottom. My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment
