I think you will find a good number of the British medals in the olympics have been won by Scots. Liz McColgan, Alan Wells and Chris Hoy spring to mind, isn't Ian Stark (equestrian) a Scot? You also provided a number of sailors, rowers and canoeists who all won medals.

In case you missed it, my withdrawl of support is not based on the fact he is a Scot, it is based on the fact that he is a small minded petty racialist with a chip on his shoulder. Those of you who don't fit that description are OK in my book, but most of you fit the bill.

I personally do not find that an issue. When England won the Rugby they had the St Georges cross and no one minded because it was an English team. had the women's curling team had any English women in it, then I would have expected them to fly the Union Flag.

To add my 2p, one of my least comfortable nights watching England was spent in a bar in Aberdeen when England were knocked out of the Euros by Sweeden in 92. The whole pub, to a man were supporting Sweeden. The place was even decked out in Sweeden colours and every Sweeden shot etc was greeted with hoards of cheering Scots. Now I know there are dicks everywhere so I guess I was just unlucky to find a whole pub full of them - the sad thing was the pub we went to at half time was the same.
