The Tories left New Lie with a booming economy and no prizes for guessing what the Tories will be left with.
The Tories have proven in the past that they can create a wealth generating economy, but New Lie just keep proving that if you stick with them, everybody except benefit scroungers and immigrants end up worse off.

Oh yes, I remember John Major's economic paradise. And Heath & Barber's before that (arguably their "dash for growth" was the real cause of 3 decades of inflation). You are misremembering Tory governments' legacies: they run well for a while and then get booted when they stop working smoothly on the economic front and start pissing about. Every outgoing Tory government has left a mess.

Yeah it was so much more embarrasing asking the IMF for loan than being pretty much bankrupted by Soros and his pals during John Major's Tory "prosperity" "If it isn't hurting it isn't working"

What pisses me off is the crap education system..18th in the developed world. Sky high prices on everything. A government afraid of taxing the rich..so they'd rather ding the poor 'coz they never vote anyway. Taxation on the small business man which is constantly rising. Taxation under the guise of "green" when its more "greed". Social engineering by fines. A less than transparent democracy. CCTV everywhere. A PM who is afraid to speak with Joe Public..I mean the guy is never around is he? A public that is trying so hard to be polite that it lets the government..and everyone else..walk all over them...we could learn something from the French there I think! (except for the endless strikes, but at least the public CAN get their way there)

'Course I wasn't here until a few years ago..so glad I wasn't here for the Thatcher and Major years...optimum time to be somewhere else I think. And I think its getting close to that time again.

Politics to you is like supporting a football team? Everything the oposition do=bad everything your team do and have done =good.
I'm seriously starting to believe you get your political insight from The Sun or you are possibly 14 years old.

The real world isn't that simple, and the people of this site don't need the blatant propaganda.

In case you forgot, We had a major recession under John Major in the early 90s and that was after the house price crash and the run on the pound. John didn't follow a Labour government did he? He followed the Emperors new economic clothes, a government who almost f'ed the economy up more than New Labour are about to. Tory was boom and bust, Labour will be also as Tory will most likely be again until someone takes control of unsustainable growth rather than basking in the short term glory of economic bubbles.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

IMO the education problem is to do with removing corporal punishment in school. I never got the cane - but if the threat had not been there I would have been a right little b***tard. I would probably have learnt nothing.

Right I've had enough. Next election I'm going to vote for the party that improves the economy, provides jobs, sorts out education, and provides a decent pension. Without having their MPs getting involved in all sorts of sleaze?

What? You mean there isn't such a party???? D'OHhhhh

                      WHS and more.

A comment today on the Telegraph website called NL 'The enemy of the people'. I'm inclined to agree. I might get down the bookies and check the odds on the tories winning the next general election. I feel a flutter coming on...

Update with odds from Blue Square:

                      Tories 1/3
                      NL 9/4
                      Libs 100/1
