Afraid not, once when I was 25 I applied for a graduate role at a large IT company. The woman looked hard as I walked in, and her first question was - and how old are you then ? (And my DOB was on the top line of the CV too!)

Of course, I could have had my flies undone and she was ascertaining if it was legal to suck on Mr Sausage.

I do not really have a problem with Black women. Employers (and I include myself) are wary about employing black women because of the difficulty of getting rid of them if they are useless.

But its all too much trouble so he reels out the generalisations then rationalises it then justifies it.

He (she?) will come back now and claim that despite all he has said he still puts the right person in the right job
I have never claimed to be any good at my job (which is running a business not shopping bodies). Generalisations are important if they are true. I stand by my generalisation that the young are still progressing whilst the old "flatline". There are of course always exceptions, but running a recruitment drive that does not take account of trends is very very time consuming.
It is similar in fact to searching everyone whether they are white and or in their eighties for bombs as opposed to just searching young muslims.

And if I was any good at getting the right person for the right job, I wouldnt be on this board sorting you lot out on a "Daley" basis

The company slogan for Dodgy's company is "I could be so good for you". Which I suppose is marginally prefereable to "Arbeit Macht Frei".

              Just out of interest ...

Have you ever thought why it is that only 25% of IT projects are on time and budget to a reasonable standard? From my 15 years experience it is because many of the so-called project managers are too young. They have bags of drive and enthusiasm but no feel or understanding of large IT projects.

The system is screwed and perpetuated by the ignorant.
              Hard Brexit now!

And for every oldie blaming the problems on youth there is a youngster blaming some old codger of a project manager who is more interested in getting home to his pipe and slippers than delivering a project.

I think as contractors older people aren't too bad off - usually employers want youth for permies, as it is important to be cheap and willing to learn. As contractors, clients don't want us to learn anything, they want us to already know what we're talking about and JFDI - so experience is a +. I reckon the older I get the easier I will find it to get gigs. All the BAs I work with round here are 40+ and they turn down more jobs in a week than I do in a year. The future's bright for contractors, people - all sweet
                      Chico, what time is it?
