No, there isn't. We should pull out, and stop contributing (it is the large financial support of countries like us, Germany, and France that gets us in to the final every year).Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostIs there any point in the UK entering next year? Is Terry Wogan right?
And take note: as song contests, so economy, so Europe: Western Europe built a stable prosperous and free group. Now the East wants in on a free ticket. In fact, they want to own it.Last edited by expat; 25 May 2008, 13:11.Comment

the voting was an absolute farce...they seem to forget that if it wasn't for us they'd all be marching around in jackboots and lederhosenBlood in your pooComment

Maybe they should have a parallel vote:Originally posted by Sausage Surprise View Postthe voting was an absolute farce...they seem to forget that if it wasn't for us they'd all be marching around in jackboots and lederhosen
Vote 1: Which country has the nicest song?
Vote 2: Which country would you like to defend yours should a nationalist socialist party rise to power and threaten your very existence?Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

I listened to all the songs last night for the very first time. Much of the voting was 'political' which is sad.
If the votes of all the Eastern European countries had not supported each other, Greece could well have won. All in all, musically speaking, it was a waste of time!Comment
