I stopped to fill my car up
the car felt good that day
I didn't know where I was going
but it felt good for a change
a five and a pocket full of silver
I paid the lady no change
and then it started to piss down
I started driving again
and then i looked up
and looked in the mirror behind me
a man round forty in the back seat
must have stepped in when I was empty
so why's he sat there just waiting
likely to smash my face in
he had a bag full of money
he said just drive me away
I didn't know where I was going
yet it felt good to be strange
and still I look up
and look in the mirror behind me
curiosity is over
he stepped down from the car
he pulled a gun from his jacket
said I was going to die
it gives me so much satisfaction
to watch you beg and cry
well I just made up this story
to get your attention makes me smile
I never looked up or looked
in the mirror behind meIt's about time I changed this sig...Comment

I want one of these, max torque available from 0 rpm, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and no-one will hear you coming.
Best of all Gordon/Darling won't get a penny.
Only 500k USD.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Couldn't agree with your thoughts more but substitute a Mondeo for a Bentley. Tax the peasants off the road !Originally posted by moorfield View PostHigher petrol prices are the way forward I say. Tax all the bangers off the road so I can motor down to the City in my Bentley in peace.
I've just moved from a 90 mile a day commute to less than 10 miles.

I saw in last week's Economist that Nissan has become the first major car company to commit to electric (rather than hybrid or fuel cell) as the future. Fleet deliveries will start in 2010 and consumer two years later. This is worldwide strategy, not necessarily UK timetable. Actually they will deliver first in Israel. For security reasons Israeli government is very keen and will (I think) be sponsoring a nationwide network of recharging points. (If they are using the latest batteries then it will be possible to fully charge them in ten minutes, though to do it in that time you need more Amps than a home-based mains socket yields.)Comment
