I don't find the A14 too bad. It is a fairly quick road, I find the A12 to be worse IMO..."If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier" -
It is the lorries that make the M62 a nightmare – especially going Eastbound where the 4 lanes go to three.Originally posted by TonyEnglish View PostI've never had any problems with that road when compared to any others. I've been doing it on a daily basis from Rochdale to Leeds. It was quite a nice drive in this morning going over the hills.
Lorries drag race in lanes one, two and three. Vans and 3 tonners slow cars right down in lane 4, when cars race at the top and crash – as happened again this morning.
They should keep ALL lorries in lane 1, and vans in lane 2, leaving lanes 3 and 4 for cars.Comment

It's nice going over the Pennines, but heading east past Bolton towards the M6 it's like the cannonball run and you really need to know exactly which lane to be in at all times. Otherwise you'll end up at best in Manchester airport or, if you're unlucky, under a truck.Originally posted by TonyEnglish View PostI've never had any problems with that road [M62] when compared to any others.
