It's nice going over the Pennines, but heading east past Bolton towards the M6 it's like the cannonball run and you really need to know exactly which lane to be in at all times. Otherwise you'll end up at best in Manchester airport or, if you're unlucky, under a truck.

I've never had any problems with that road [M62] when compared to any others. I've been doing it on a daily basis from Rochdale to Leeds. It was quite a nice drive in this morning going over the hills.

It is the lorries that make the M62 a nightmare – especially going Eastbound where the 4 lanes go to three.

Lorries drag race in lanes one, two and three. Vans and 3 tonners slow cars right down in lane 4, when cars race at the top and crash – as happened again this morning.

They should keep ALL lorries in lane 1, and vans in lane 2, leaving lanes 3 and 4 for cars.

You may not be too far from the truth there Churchill – it is the most aggressive motorway in the UK – Makes the M40 look like a breeze.

Even when I get my MX5 fixed I don’t think I am going to brave the 62 – too many lorries and vans for my liking.

The M40 is one of the most relaxed motorways I have ever driven down....

Was on the M60 on Friday getting home – was stuck behind a co-operative hearse in the fast lane doing the mid 80’s, wobbling all over the shop and nearly hitting the central reservation.

Initially I thought it was stolen, until I saw the driver – looking like a hearse driver, obviously just running late.

I think we have the answer here
