I wish it were so Zippy but the postal vote thing is really out of control in major cities. Many immigrant families register postal votes and all their papers are passed up from the head of the family, to the head of the community, etc. So it's a bloc vote essentially, dictated by ethnicity or religion.

Ken knows this. That's why he has assiduously courted (nay, bought) the votes of the immigrant communities in the inner-city areas of London.

I think that is too cynical. I agree that one thing GB inc will never be short of is stupid people/sheep but that shouldn't deny them the vote. Boris will do well around my area - the vast majority of people are white, upper middle-class owners of (semi) posh houses and cars - and I feel there is an element of block voting going on around here too (posher sheep maybe?). We haven't been doorstepped once (and I was sooo looking forward to it ) so I think the party workers feel that this area is a done deal, which is a shame.

However we vote and however we like or dislike the result it should not stop us getting out there and marking those boxes. Let's keep believing this is a democracy

Sorry to burst your bubble but they're entitled to a vote, any way or means they want, like them or not. And politicians court voting blocs, that's what they do. If that annoys you, or comes as a surprise then please stop with the fliping lecturing on why I should vote and go do some research.

I choose to lecture on behalf of the poor sods who gave up their lives to ensure we actually do have the inalienable right to vote in this country.

If you chose not to vote, then you are abnegating that hard-won right.

Couch it however you will, to chose not to vote when you can vote is a betrayal of the democratic process.

You must support the democratic process by VOTING whenever you can.
