I'd go for the fastest horse, where the jockey stays on 'til the end.Originally posted by Sockpuppet View PostChoose the fastest horse and jockey.

Maybe a grey one with four legs (horse that is).Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

That's really cruel - who the hell are they supposed to get a wheelchair over them jumps.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostThanks SP. Where do I send the cheque for half my winnings?
Although, as it's a handicap race ...Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Assuming you are talking about the National pick horses with previous experience in the race (or the Foxhunter) - if the form reads something like UF-F5F avoid like the plague. Look for experienced jockeys as they are less likely to charge into the first fence.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostI'm off to Aintree at the weekend. Any tips on picking the winner?

Allow plenty of time for travel. All sorts of traffic warnings going on up here.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostI'm off to Aintree at the weekend. Any tips on picking the winner?
You want a big chested horse. Lungs like a barrel.
You want a stayer not a sprinter.
Look back for a 3+ miler in early Jan. Then rested till the National.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

I have only bet on the National once. I bet on a horse called Dark Ivy. It didn't win, infact it didn't get round because it was shot early on.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
