FWIW I spent eight months Monday to Friday on a gig in Bristol. I'm too old and boring to have bothered finding out all that the city has to offer, but it struck me as a very nice place, with friendly natives and some decent pubs - I eventually gravitated to The Hobgoblin, where the ale is, even to my exacting palate, of the most excellent quality
. Some plonker had left a beer keg in a parking space in the pub car park (and then some bigger plonker drove into it
