Can anyone working in IT for a bank work this out?

My street is Schützenweg. My bank, First Direct, seems unable to handle this - we get letters addressed to SCH Tzenweg.

And what should I tell FD, in order to get our address corrected?

Their system probably does not support this non-ASCII character. Tell them to use "u" instead - I doubt postman would care.

If you are getting letters addressed to SCH Tzenweg and this is not your address, surely your beef is with the Post Office for sending you letters not addressed to you.

Excellent plan. I'll go and buy Fuchshagweg.

Get a bank based in the same country as your address. You remind me of my mate who moves from Dublin to London and kept moaning that there were hardly any branches of the Bank of Ireland.
