Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face. -

Do you ever get anyone being jealous?
I have one particular acquaintance who just despises me. I have been nothing but nice and civil to the guy but everytime I meet him the jealousy and bitterness just pours out.
Like everyone I would never talk about my salary but with the place you live, the car you drive, the lifestyle you lead some things are obvious.
Bumped in to this guy in the street the other day. Gave him a cheery hello. He rolled his eyes as soon as he saw me. During a perfunctory 2 minute conversation, with me just making polite remarks, he managed to fit in the fact that he was "skint as usual" almost as it it was an accusation against me.
He could be an alright bloke if he wasn't so bitter.
I made he mistake recently of getting very very drunk and when pressed by friends told them about my current day rate. They all went very very quiet. I realised almost immediately that I shouldn't have said anything, but sometimes drink does that to you eh? I did then try and qualify it by saying that out of that I have to pay all these taxes and NI,but it didn't help. Half of them were OK with it the morning after and half weren't. Glad I didn't mention that I've taken a rate drop to work at a charity.
SWMBO has also let slip in the past that we're in a situation to overpay the mortgage at the moment amongst her friends, and that had a similar reception.
Mind you when all that's said and done, the friends who I grew up with (different bunch) all know my rates and are very hapy for me.
Sometimes it's the small things that cause the problems."Israel, Palestine, Cats." He Said
