Yeah, you're right, better stick to Labour. Better the devil you know and all that.
I suppose in reality who's in power doesn't make all that much difference because they still rely on the same advisors and civil servants. Its not like after every general election they chuck them all out and recruit new ones. At best they'll make them re-apply for their old jobs, like all those numpties in Norwich.

Yes but look at the difference in size between the civil service under the tories and now under NL. Big Govt requires big civil service. Hopefully, the tories will win and reduce the number of civil servants.
That and one rate of tax. But thats another story...
I thought Labour were getting shut of many thousands of civil servants? Or are they simply re-branding them to hide them from the stats?
I (almost) laugh at how Labour spends it's time in office creating endless red tape, then the Conservatives spend their time undoing it, just for it to start again when Labour get back in power.

If I remember correctly there were something like 60,000 civil servants when Nu Liemore came into power. They sacked about 30,000 of them saying how wasteful the Tory government was employing them all and then employed another 170,000......
As this thread is based (I assume) on a moneyweek article, here's a great quote from that article, about NL:
They’re a bit like a really badly run hedge fund. The fees they charge are extortionate, the performance they deliver is woeful, and investors can’t get their money out.

IIRC one of the big uproars when Labour took power was the politicisation of the Civil Service - key posts being filled by NL yes men into what was supposed to be an impartial service
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think
