Me too. Maybe that's why I'm enjoying Ashes to Ashes a lot more than Life on Mars.

I can't see them doing a Spitting Image again from Luck and Flaw (that's got to be a Spoonerism).

Primarily because both were (are) "Labour Luvvies".

I seem to recall S.I. did mock the Labourazi Party, but I'm sure it was never as bad at the kicking the poor Tories got.

Yes. I've been thinking that about Paul Merton lately. On Just a Minute too.

Merton is a bit too smug and self-satisfied - as though these shows were just vehicles for his ego and that he can just be stupid and ignore the rules - because he's Paul Merton.

He's getting to be a bit of an annoying twat. Ian Hislop on the other hand is always genuinely witty and good value.

I prefer The New Statement myself. Classic comedy.

IIRC one of the big uproars when Labour took power was the politicisation of the Civil Service - key posts being filled by NL yes men into what was supposed to be an impartial service

As this thread is based (I assume) on a moneyweek article, here's a great quote from that article, about NL:

They’re a bit like a really badly run hedge fund. The fees they charge are extortionate, the performance they deliver is woeful, and investors can’t get their money out.

Both non-doms and therefore non-tax payers on any offshore gains. See, Labour like tax dodgers really.

Ever wondered where HMG gets its supply of cleared, experienced, Civil-Service qualified contract workers from?
