IIRC the adult entertainment industry doesn't give two hoots about the illegal downloads, they just see it as another advertising opportunity.

Yeah most of the freely obtainable stuff are clips released by the industry to tempt us to subscribe to their main sites.

What they don't realise is that 30 second clip is plenty of time for most of us.

And this relates to CD sales exactly how? CDs are going down - flash is taking the space and even in cars CD players are not exactly getting super popular - people connect their iPods to cars these days, so CD sales will plummet even more than they do now.

The point is AtW that this revolutions you are enthusing about has already happened. If/When they release FLAC/CD Quality downloads that may well have an effect but you will still have people who want the CD and buy CD's. I know loads of people that buy a few tunes on iTunes and then go out and buy the CD because they think it's good and they want a copy that doesn't sound tulip.

Actually even as long as 10 years ago they had the technology to enable mobiles on the tube as knew a lass working on the project for LU.

The problems were financial/legal rather than technical, aka who gets the contract, which would have to be exclusive due to the cost of setting it up and what would be the legal ramifications of giving a single company such a competitive edge on a public transportation system.

As we don't have mobiles on the tube yet guess they never managed to come up with a solution

But if they had the technical means to provide mobile coverage in tubes 10 years ago I would defiantly say they have the technical means to provide mobile internet coverage now

Singapore has 100% mobile network coverage in the underground system. Thats stations and trains.

I'm not saying it is not technically possible to put transmitters into the tube for example. I am saying that realistically we will never have 100% coverage over the whole planet both above and below ground/sea. It just isn't going to happen.

There will always be cases where people will want local copies of their music that they can play without having to faff about with mobile broadband.

Doesn't ring any bells. If it wasn't a comment on here then it's highly unlikely. I only use this ID on one other forum, and I play it very straight on there, as they don't seem to have the same high tolerance for humour and piss-taking as here.

You may be onto something, though I don't doubt there's a lot of explotitation and worse going on. I was watching a dodgy video with a mate the other evening when his missus walked in. He'd downloaded it by accident off Limewire (or whatever p2p is popular thesedays) thinking it was an episode of Lost and it turned out to be fake. His missus asked how the girls could do such things because the blokes were minging. I said they probably get around 5 grand for a days shooting. She said "really" and went quiet, clearly thinking about it. I think my mate might be a bit worried about finding her on a video someday soon! I'm deciding whether she's worth 5 grand.
