Sharia law in UK is 'unavoidable'

Same in Germany and Italy (I think).
We got wed in Munich. You have to do the registrar then you can do a church job if you want to.
I think if the UK wants to be consistant then either all "church" weddings should be as recognised as Christian weddings, or should require all religions to have a registrar ceremony as well as their religious one.
Assuming those performing the religious ceremonies can be recognised as "legit".

This is what happens at the moment. I had a Hindu wedding and the registration ceremony was performed at the temple during the wedding. We didn't have to go and get the register ceremony done separately. The place performing the wedding just needs to have somebody who is legally allowed to do the registration ceremony, there is nothing stopping Muslim clerics from getting permission to do this. Virtually all Christian churches have a pastor who is also allowed to perform the registration ceremony, it still happens as part of the wedding.

The reason a lot of other faiths don't do it at their place of worship is because they wouldn't have had to do the registration part in their home country (yes I know there are people born and bred in this country of other religious faiths, by by and large the faiths have only come to this country in large enough numbers for then to have places of worship in the last century), therefore they don't see it as part of the wedding ritual. They get it done in a registry office to just get the required legal documentation.

There is nothing wrong with the way it is done at the moment.

You say Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan are not representative of Muslim countries, but they appear to implement Sharia Law in its full and purest form, so surely they are in fact perfect examples - as close as it gets to perfection for the clerics? Other Muslim countries are secular like Turkey, or just not fully implementing Sharia Law.
Who decides which bits to pic 'n mix or water down for Sharia Britain? Or is it a constantly evolving cycle?

Oh an expert! yes give us all your knowledge on the issue. As far as I'm concern there is no "Muslim country" - but countries with muslims who implement some culturally infused version of Sharia.
